Obituary for Sloan

Buster Ray Sloan is gonna be greatly missed by family and friends. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Heat & Frost Local #76 for about 20 years and loved it. He was a very honest man and a great friend. The three most important people in Buster's life were his daughter, Samantha Blair and his parents, Bob and Alice Sloan. He is survived by one brother, Bobby D. Sloan; one sister, Sharon Overson and brother-in-law, Tom Overson; two nephews, Bobby J. Overson and Levi Sloan; three nieces, Shawn Overson, Brandy Sloan and Amber Sloan-Wells; daughter, Samantha Sloan; parents, Bob and Alice Sloan. He was a loving brother and was a great son to his parents, but the most important thing he was a wonderful Daddy to his daughter, Samantha Blair Sloan. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 3, 2000, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 4, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd. SE. Pallbearers will be Tom Overson, Jay Benton, Jimmy Simmons, Billy Sands, Jesse Sands and Chris Wells. Bobby D. Sloan is an Honorary pallbearers. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
