Obituary for Davenport

Frances R. Davenport, a resident of Albuquerque for 32 years, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2000. She was born September 15, 1922 in Three Forks, MT to Ernest and Bertha (Merange) Kunze. When she was a little girl her family moved to Kansas, where she worked for Kistler-Collister as a seamstress performing alternations. Frances also had her own drapery business. When she was not working, she enjoyed painting and was a very fine artist. She is survived by her loving daughter, Vickie Nichols; and son, Jim Davenport and his wife, Beverly, all of Albuquerque; one brother, Ernest Kunze and his wife, Mary of Missouri; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Davenport was a member of Temple Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Visitation will be held Friday, October 6, 2000, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, with Pastor J. Curtis Goldman officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. Strong-Thorne Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
