Obituary for Kerlee

Charles"Chuck" Kerlee, Jr., age 56, passed away on September 29, 2000 after a valiant battle with kidney disease. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war and served a total of 11 years in the Armed Forces, serving in the Navy on the USS Shangrila and in the Air Force, specializing in Explosive Ordnance Disposal. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Sociology at the University of New Mexico in 1984. His careers included construction, substitute teaching and the work he truly loved, mental health counseling. He is survived by longtime companion, Sue Casbourne of Belen; ex-wife, Mary A. Kerlee; daughter, Audra Kerlee and Tony Ortiz of Albuquerque; son, Scott Kerlee of Belen; ex-daughter-in-law, Tina Kerlee; grandson, Jeremy Kerlee of Albuquerque; sister, Dian Sissa and husband, Bob of San Jose, CA; brother, Gary Kerlee and wife, Bonnie of Edgewood; cousin, Jerry Cobb and wife, Susie of Albuquerque; dear friend, Herman Jackson of Tajique; and many nephews, nieces and friends. He was a special person who will remain in our hearts forever. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at Sandia Funeral Care at 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2000.
