Obituary for Shroyer

Wanda Lee Shroyer, 55, went to be with our Lord on August 29, 2000 after a two year struggle with cancer. Born September 1, 1944 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Frank and Marie Ramsey. Wanda was raised in Little Rock, Arkansas and Houston, Texas. She married Kedrick Shroyer on February 11, 1964. They moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1966, after the birth of their first child, Jeffery; two daughters, Kealie and Sheila were born in Cheyenne. Wanda was devoted to her husband, children and her church. She moved with her family to Thermopolis, Wyoming in 1970, when her husband became the Pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy. The family returned to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1972 to take over the pastorate in that town. In 1976, the family moved to Guernsey, Wyoming again to pastor. IN Guernsey, Wanda worked as the high school secretary and touched many lives with her honesty and humor. She was actively involved in the church, school and community of Guernsey. Wanda gave much of her time to Bible study and loved to teach the principles of the Bible. She would teach God's word to anyone who would listen or stand still. In 1983, Wanda left her school job to become the owner of Daylight Donut in Wheatland, Wyoming. She enjoyed cooking and making special treats for each member of her family. In 1989, Wanda and her husband chose to leave the Wyoming winters and moved to Albuquerque to a new pastorate. In Albuquerque, Wanda worked as an Administrative Assistant at Chase Candle Company and at Southwest Distributing. She taught Sunday school and Bible study in her local church. Wanda is survived by her husband, Kedrick Shroyer of Espanola; her children, Jeffery Shroyer of Denver, CO, Kealie Shroyer of Albuquerque, and Sheila and Michael Sherwood of Plano, TX; two grandchildren, Mark and Kelsey. She is also survived by her mother, Marie Ramsey Brock; and siblings, Frank and Virginia Ramsey, Kenneth Ramsey, Gary Ramsey, Vivian and Ray Gill, Don and CC Ramsey; and Steven and Tammy Ramsey, all of Houston, TX. The service for Wanda will be on Friday, September 1, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho.
