Obituary for Griego

Johnnie Lee Griego, 48, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, August 28, 2000. He is survived by his two sons, Johnnie Lee Griego Jr. and Derek Paul Griego, both of Albuquerque; parents, Celestino and Margaret Griego of Albuquerque; two sisters, Geri Ortega and husband, George of Westminster, CO and Helen Quintana and husband, Charles of Albuquerque; and two brothers, Celestino (Tino) Griego and wife, Carmen of Albuquerque and Danny Griego and wife, Evelyn of Westminster, CO; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Griego graduated in 1969 from Albuquerque High School. He enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Bishop Orlando Trujillo reciting. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE, with Father Normand Falardeau, S.S.S., Celebrant. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 12:30 p.m. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Wednesday, from 2:00 p.m. until Rosary.
