Fern Christine Gentry, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home Monday morning, August 28, 2000. She was born October 28, 1920 to John and Mamie Simpson in Wilderness, MO. Fern married Thomas P. Gentry on January 15, 1941 in Bernalillo. She spent most of her life in El Paso, TX and was a former resident of Albuquerque before moving to Oklahoma City five years ago. Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Lewis and Arnold Simpson; and a sister, Sybil Hughes. Fern is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Thomas P. Gentry of the home; daughter, Tomilou Fern Gentry Liddell of Oklahoma City; brother, Rex Simpson of Raymore, MO; two grandchildren, Luci Belinda Liddell, Jesse Duncan Thomas Liddell; and a nephew, Dick Hughes of Ft. Davis, TX. Graveside services will be officiated by Dr. Guy Ames, 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 31, 2000, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City. The family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Oklahoma County or the American Humane Society, in lieu of flowers. Services under the direction of Vondel L.
