Obituary for Wilhelm

Homer H. Wilhelm, 83, affectionately known as"Pap-Paw", died Friday, August 25, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maude Wilhelm of the family home; son, Larry Wilhelm and wife, Diana, of Albuquerque; daughters, Martha Snyder of Albuquerque, Gail Kirby and husband, Rick of Albuquerque, June Buford of Magnolia, TX, and Janet Clingan and husband, Neal of Selma, AL; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Brown of Roanoke, VA. Mr. Wilhelm was born in Eagle Rock, VA on October 19, 1916, the youngest of ten children. He married Maude E. Barger on October 30, 1937. They moved to Albuquerque in 1948, where he started to work at Sandia Labs. Mr. Wilhelm retires in 1983 as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, and served as a deacon for many years. He was also an active member of the CARE Group at First Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, and the outdoors. He spent many winters in Blythe, CA. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Services will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rev. Dennis Lihte officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Tuesday, August 29, 2000, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CARE Group of First Baptist Church, P.O.
