Obituary for Prewitt

Robert C. Prewitt III, 77, passed away Monday, August 15 after a brief illness."RC" was born March 9, 1923 in Gallup to Robert C. Prewitt Jr. and Cornelia (nee) Porter of Prewitt, NM. He was a graduate of the University of New Mexico and spent most of his career as an engineer for Los Alamos National Laboratory. He was a sportsman, skier and regular at the trap and skeet ranges. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia L. Webb and Mary E. Prewitt. He is survived by three children, Eilene C. Durgin and Robert C. Prewitt IV of Albuquerque and Michael S. Prewitt of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by a sister, Jean Freeman of Los Lunas; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A wake will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, at the home of Eilene Durgin, 4112 Southwood Ct. NW.
