Obituary for Braman

Donald E. Braman III, 46, of Dalhart, died Saturday, June 24, 2000 in Amarillo, TX. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 2000, at Victory Center, 122 NW 5th in Guymon, OK with Charles Mendenhall of Victory Center officiating. Cremation was handled by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors. Mr. Braman was born in Denver, Colorado. He earned his private pilot's license with a commercial rating at the age of 16 and had been active in the Civil Air Patrol and AOPA. He served in the United States Air Force. He was also an AG pilot, flying both planes and helicopters. Don served as an air traffic controller in several towers, including Albuquerque, Colorado Springs, Denver, and numerous smaller towers in the western U.S. and Alaska. He worked to help organize the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (AFL-CIO). He was a member of the Christian gospel band"Prophecy". He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine in 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Kristina and Amy Braman, both of Bushland; three sons, Don Braman IV, Jaysen Braman and Jamie Braman, all of Bushland; father and step-mother, Donald Jr. and Janice Braman of Albuquerque; two brothers, Andy Braman and Jim Braman, both of Albuquerque; numerous nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles.
