Obituary for Hazlett

Barbara Gabaldon Hazlett died peacefully on November 12, 2000. She was born in Albuquerque on April 29, 1919 to Francisco and Clotilde Gabaldon. Her husband, Cecil Hazlett, her parents, her brothers, Demetrio, Tony, Ralph and Frank Gabaldon and her sister, Ella Burke preceded her in death. Her sisters, Priscilla Miranda and Martha Baca; and sister-in-law, Erlinda Gabaldon from Albuquerque survive her as well as, the Hazlett and Johnson families from Texas; many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. She lived in California for thirty years and worked for the state of California and then returned home to Albuquerque in 1974., She retired from the City of Albuquerque Water Department in 1984 and volunteered for many years for the Red Cross. She enjoyed traveling and activities with her family. She was loving and caring and will be missed by all. She was a member of the Catholic Church. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 17, 2000 at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of Angels Chapel located at I-40 and 12th street NW. Father John Plans from St. Therese Little Flower Church will officiate at the mass. Special thanks to Presbyterian hospice staff for all their care and support during her final days.
