Roger Swede Hill Jr. passed away on Friday, October 13, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lucy; daughters, Patricia DeHerrera and husband, Elden, and Kiki Foster; son, Richard Vallejos and wife, Cheryl, all of Bernalillo; grandchildren, Jason, Joseph, April, Christopher, Amy, Roger and wife, Mindy, and Jared and wife, Antoinette; great-grandchildren, Charlene, Mariah, and Samantha; brother, Gus Hill and wife, Mary Ellen, Frank Hill and Pat Hill; sister, Evelyn Fellis, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Roger and Lois Hill, brothers, Jake, Alex and Sam, and his sister, Janie. Roger served in the US Army during World War II. He was also very active in his community and state. Rosary will be recited Sunday, October 15, 2000 at 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, 87109, with Roy Rivera reciting. Memorial services will be Monday, October 16, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Bernalillo, with graveside services at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Joseph De Herrera, Richard Vallejos, Jason De Herrera, Roger Foster, Keller Davis, Frank Hill, and Gus Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be: The Sandoval County Sheriffs Posse, Adrian Perrault, Karl Johnson, Richard Boyd, Lou Gallegos, Manuel Lujan, John Romero, Frank Bond and Dave Cargo.
