Obituary for Lumry

Willis (Gus) M. Lumry, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1942, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2000. He was born September 26, 1917 in Longmont, CO. He and his wife, Beth were married January 17, 1944. He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Wilma Stotyn of California and Doris Schleuger of Colorado; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Ollie Lumry. He was affiliated with Heights Christian Church. He received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering at the University of New Mexico, and was a retired employee of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He served in WWII and the Korean War, and was a charter member of the 188th Fighter Squadron of the New Mexico Air National Guard. A Memorial service will be held at Heights Christian Church on Saturday, June 17 at 4:00 p.m. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
