Gladys Ruth Briggs"nee" Edwards, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verol Briggs; brothers, Gordon and Leslie Edwards; a sister, Dorothy Maffei; and grandson, J.J. Sheppard. Gladys is survived by two sons, Lynn Briggs of Austin, TX, and Don Briggs and wife, Janis of Albuquerque; two daughters, Ruth Johnson and husband, Ken of Odessa, TX, and Donna Brown and husband, David of Albuquerque. Also surviving are a sister, Evelyn Edwards of Albuquerque; a brother, Russell Edwards and wife, Winifred of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a third on the way. Gladys enjoyed visiting with her family, she loved singing, dining out, and good conversation. She enjoyed her church fellowship, and eating one of her favorite foods, Cheese Nips. Friends may visit on Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at The First Baptist Church of Alameda.
