Obituary for Sell

Esther M. Sell, 90, Rapid City, South Dakota, died Sunday, June 11, 2000 at the Victorian House. Esther was born March 16, 1910 at Council Bluffs, IA to Conrad G. and Anna M. (Bauer) Sell. She received a B.A. and M.A. degrees at University of New Mexico. She was employed for many years by the Albuquerque Public Schools as a teacher at Monte Vista, Kirtland Base and Apache Elementary Schools. She was an exchange teacher for one year in Los Angeles. She was a lifelong member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Albuquerque and presently a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Rapid City. She was a member of the Lutheran Woman's Missionary League, Albuquerque Association of Educational Employees, New Mexico Association of Educational Employees and Alpha XI Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. After retiring she became a worldwide traveler. She is survived by her niece, Mary Ann Nietz of Rapid City; great-nephew, Tim Sell Nietz and his wife, Karen; great-niece, Cynthia and her husband, Mitchell of St. George, UT; great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces, Michael, Tyler and Aaron Nietz, Megan, Thomas and Macy Six. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, nephew-in-law. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14, 2000, from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m., at Behrens Mortuary, and one hour prior to the services at the church. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m., June 15, 2000 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. William Paepke officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Memorial Park in Albuquerque. Memorial to be established.
