Obituary for Nogales

Louis C. Nogales Jr., 39, beloved son of Louie and Gloria Nogales, passed away June 12, 2000, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his daughter, Angelique Desiree Sanchez, 7, and her mother, Arleen Sanchez; brothers, Joey Nogales and wife, Veronica, and Fred Nogales; sister, Teri Nogales-Liang and husband, Ron Liang; nephews, Joseph Nogales, Johnny Nogales, Anthony Nogales, and Angelo Nogales; nieces, Felicia Nogales and Chantel Legarreta; beloved grandmother, Theresa Mora; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Louis was a 1979 graduate of Albuquerque High School and later graduated from T-VI. He was a loving father, son and brother who was known for his compassion, kindness and generosity to those less fortunate. Despite his illness, Louis demonstrated remarkable courage and strength, always putting others before himself. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and his legendary sense of humor. Funeral services for Louis will be held Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Mora, Vince Mora, Ralph Mora, John Nogales, Ted Flores Jr., and Cayentano Valenzuela. Honorary pallbearers will be all his other cousins and his friends at Wilson Park in Southeast Albuquerque. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. at St. Charles Church. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
