Obituary for Dillon

Mary M. Dillon, age 94, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, died June 12, 2000. Mary was born on a farm in St. Paul, Kansas to Michael Leo and Margaret Ann Dillon. She is survived by one brother, Mick Dillon of Kansas and sister-in-law, Marguerite Dillon. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Tim Dillon and wife, Dee, Carolyn Dillon, Dan Dillon, Kathy Underwood and husband, Andy, Sharon Alba and husband, Victor, Michael Dillon, Virginia Joanne Dillon, Margie Dillon and Kathy Dillon; and seven great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Pearl Dillon; and her brother, Emmett Dillon. Mary's life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her faith. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Catholic Daughter's of America, St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary, Legion of Mary, and Brothers of the Good Shepard Auxiliary. Mary retired from a career as a U.S. Civil Servant. From there she went to a second career as a founder of the Medical Library at St. Joseph's Hospital. After a second retirement she was an extremely active volunteer at St. Joseph's. Mary fought the fight, ran the race, and kept the faith. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday, June 14, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 15, 2000, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, with Father Francis X. Eggert as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Mausoleum. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
