Obituary for Lisk

Elva (Elvie) Edward Lisk, a resident of Mountainair, NM, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2000. He was born in Bosque, NM to Edward and Maud (Burton) Lisk on October 22, 1913. Elvie was a benefactor to many of the people in Mountainair in his own quiet and unassuming way. His quick wit and dry sense of humor entertained us over the years. His early years were spent working as an electrician at the Empire Mine in Hanover, NM and on ranches as a cowboy. He joined the U.S. Army during WWII and served his country proudly for the duration of the war. He was honorably discharged as a S/SGT. in 1945. He married Della L. Hileman who survives him. He is survived by his daughter, Edith Redfearn of Belen; sons, Joe Lisk of Quesnel, Canada, B.C., and Jerry Lisk and wife, Holly of Rio Rancho; six grandchildren, Ron J. Redfearn and wife, Colleen of Farmington, Kerri Allgood and husband, Lance of Gallup, Bobby Lisk and Jessie Lisk, both of Quesnel, Canada, B.C., Matthew Lisk and Jonathan Lisk, both of Rio Rancho; great-grandchildren, Dana Marie Redfearn and Jake Alan Redfearn, both of Farmington; brothers, Tommy and wife, Faye of Globe, AZ and their children, Rusty, Fawn, Mike, Eddie and Edna Faye, Floyd and wife, Winnalee of Oracle, AZ and their children, Laura Lee and Dean; sister, Edna Malone and husband, Pat of San Bernardino, CA and children, Mike, Lynn, and David; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Toni) Lisk of Deming and children, Neil and Elvie Ray (Butchie); sister, Mae Hall of Albuquerque and their children, Bobby and Linda. Also surviving are niece, Jeannie and husband, Wesley and their children, Lesley, Shelly and Troy; nephew, Russell of Las Cruces. Elvie was preceded in death by brothers, Grady and Ray; and sisters, Cleo and Clara. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the charity of your choice. Memorial services will be held Friday, June 16, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at the Assembly of God Church in Mountainair, NM. Arrangements by Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, Socorro, NM.
