Luis "Shorty" Torres, 68, passed away October 14, 2000. A longtime resident of Albuquerque, he was a service station attendant and auto mechanic. He loved his family and music. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Margaret Torres; sons, Luis Torres Jr. and wife, Rosemary, Ruben R. Torres and wife, Nicole, Carlos C. Torres and wife, Molly; daughters, Rebecca Moya and husband, Efran, Victoria Reid and husband, Hank, Lonnie Carabajal and husband, Ray, Laura L. Torres, Frances Chavez; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters; three brothers; other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at San Martin Catholic Church with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2000. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, with burial following at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th NW, 343-8008.
