Obituary for Eatough

Melvin G. (Buzz) Eatough, 76, beloved husband and father, and always the gentleman, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2000, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Albuquerque; children, Mike Eatough and wife, Tonya Taylor also of Albuquerque, Joyce Passon of La Porte, TX and Richard Eatough also of Texas; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sister, June of Kaysville, UT; brothers, Floyd of Opal, WY, Dean of Lynndel, UT, and Keith of Elko, NV. He was preceded in death by his children's mother, Zelma; and brother, Don. Mel was born in Silver City, Ut on Valentines Day, February 14, 1923, also his mother's birthday. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Mel was a miner at heart, using his mining skills and wonderful personality to sell mining equipment throughout the world, as well as in the U.S. His travels took him all over South America, Mexico, and Malaysia. Mel also spent 30 years living and traveling in Colorado. He was National Accounts Manager for Gardner Denver Mining Equipment Company when he retired in 1980. Mel spent the next 12 years freelancing his services to several mining equipment companies until he retired"for real" in 1992. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 9:00 a.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment of cremains will take place Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
