Obituary for Vigil

Thomas Vigil, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away following an illness. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Vigil; also surviving are his children, Bonita (Bunny) Vigil Martinez, Rebecca Vigil, Laurie Vigil-Kirk and husband, Jim, Thomas Vigil, and wife Leslie, Edwin Vigil, Tania Vigil and Fiance Don, Joe L. Dominguez and wife, Maria Elena, and Geri Martinez and husband, Freddie. He is survived by Goddaughter, Amanda Vigil; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Vigil attended the Pecos Public Schools and the University of Albuquerque. He was a Veteran, serving in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam and Korean Conflict. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, wood carving, traveling, camping, and yardwork. He was a life member of the D.A.V. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christina Romero; and his son, Ruben Dominguez. A Rosary will be recited this evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Church of the Risen Saviour Catholic Church. Friends may visit today, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Chapel of the Alameda Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 13, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. also at the church, with the Rev. Fr. Baca as Celebrant. Interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Martinez, Chris Martinez, Jacob Mallow, Michael Cordova, Joe Dominguez Jr. and Jason Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Vigil, Gilbert Martinez, Marcus Cordova, Ben Valdez, Jim Kirk, Kenneth Vigil Kaiser, Freddie Martinez, Pete Otero, Raymond Ortega, Delfinio Vigil, Luis Ibarra Jr. and Steve Tradup. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th St NW, Gary F. Santillanes C.F.S.P.
