Obituary for Montano

Nick Montano, Sr., 55, a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, died Sunday, January 9, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Genevieve Montano; children, Darlyn Garcia and boyfriend, Andy Chavez, Nick G. Montano, Jr., and wife, Monica, Danny R. Montano and wife, Kristi and Jennie A. Montano; grandchildren, Amanda Garcia, Nichole Garcia, Andrew Chavez, Monique Montano, Aaron Montano, Ryan Montano, Kayla Montano and Amber Montano; Mother Severa Montano; brothers, Evaristo C. Montano, Jr., and wife, Ruth, Demetrio Montano and wife, Christine and Donald Montano and wife, Esther; sister, Hortancia"Terry" Garcia; parents-in-law, Diego and Gabina Madrid, all of Albuquerque; and sister-in-law, Vangie Marquez and husband, Max of El Rito. He was preceded in death by his father, Evaristo Montano, Sr., and brother, Gilbert Montano. Mr. Montano co-owned and co-operated Montano Construction Company with his brother, Donald Montano. He was a great father who placed family first. He will be greatly missed. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont Ave. NE, with Deacon Ruben Barela reciting. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, with Father Johnny Lee Chavez, Celebrant and Deacon Pilar Garcia officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Montano, Gilberto Montano, Max Marquez, Jr., James Marquez, Lee Montano, and Victor Jaramillo. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Montano, Chris Montano and Jake Montano. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
