Obituary for Musser

George C. Musser, 81, of Gallup, NM, passed away December 30, 1999 in Gallup. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jean; and a son, Michael T. Musser of Phoenix, AZ; his son, Peter James Musser preceded him in death. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Ronald, Scott, Christopher, Todd Kim Musser; and eight great-grandchildren. George was born in Bellingham, WA on November 2, 1918. He attended Tacoma, WA, elementary and high schools and graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from Washington State University in 1942. He then served with the Army Corps of Engineers at Ft. Leonard Hood, MO and in England from 1942 through 1945 during WWII. In Tacoma and up and down the West Coast he worked as an engineer of sawmill machinery from 1946 to 1960. George also served on the building of the Navajo Sawmill and then as engineer on the construction of Ft. Wingate High School. In Crownpoint, NM, he was the Program Officer with the BIA before retiring in 1979. Memorial services for George Musser will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 1800 Red Rock Drive, in Gallup, on Saturday, January 8 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 1-800-242-8721.
