Obituary for Hall

Melba Olson Hall, 91, an Albuquerque resident since 1997, passed away Friday, December 28, 2001 following a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Clement H. Hall of Albuquerque; sons, Dr. Roger Hall of Eugene, Oregon, Bruce Hall of Albuquerque and David Hall of San Dimas, CA; 7 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Virgie Hammer; brothers, Dr. Erwin Olson and Dr. Robert Olson. Prior to moving to Albuquerque, Mrs. Hall was a long time resident of Coffeyville, KS where she was very active in numerous civic and charitable organizations. She was a graduate of Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS. She taught Art and English in Oklahoma and Kansas before her marriage to Clement H. Hall on November 28, 1935. After moving to Albuquerque, Mrs. Hall became a much-loved figure in the Montebello Senior Living Community, where she and her husband, Clement resided. She also transferred her membership in PEO to Albuquerque Chapter E, PEO and regularly attended its meetings. At the time of her death she was looking forward to visiting her first great-grandchild in Portland, OR. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2002, at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Ave NE, with Pastor Luther Matheson officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Clement and Melba Hall Scholarship Fund, Kansas University Endowment Association, Lawrence KS 66045; to First Christian Church, 305 West 9th St, Coffeyville, KS 67337, or to the Coffeyville Cultural Arts Council, 912 South Walnut, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
