Lela Quintana Romero, 99, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Irene M. Sanchez, surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, January 2, 2002. She was born October 20, 1902. Mrs. Romero is survived by her sons, Ernest M. Lovato and wife, Crucita and Ricardo Romero; daughter, Irene M. Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Susan R. Wolff and husband, Jerry of Nambe, NM, Marleen Lovato of Albuquerque; Chris Lovato and husband, Dan Pratt of Vancouver B.C., Cynthia A. Sanchez, Lori Ann Lovato and husband, Tom Martin and Angela Train and husband, John, all of Albuquerque; grandsons, David N. Sanchez and wife, Linda of Jemez Springs, Mark A. Lovato and wife, Theresa, Christopher L. Romero and wife, Clarissa, all of Albuquerque, Jessie Romero, Richard James Romero , both of Omaha, NE, Michael Anthony, Darren Sanchez and wife, Melissa and David Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; great-granddaughters, Virginia A. Wolff of Albuquerque, Michelle A. Wolff of Nambe, NM, Elizabeth A. Wolff of San Diego, CA, Irene Troy of Roswell, Kimberly R. Sanchez, Jennifer Ostlie and husband, Randy, Angela Train , Reyna Romero, Marciela Romero, Cassandra Sanchez and Kimberly Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; great-grandsons, Joseph W. Troy of Albuquerque, John Scott Sanchez and wife, Jenny, Rafael Romero and Josh Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; great-great-granddaughters, Suzanne Wolff of San Diego, CA and Olivia Dahnkey of Albuquerque; and great-great-grandson, Dominic Sanchez of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Manuel R. Romero; daughter, Virginia Lovato Lopez; and brother, Daniel Quintana. Mrs. Romero will be remembered for her unconditional love, kindness, and generosity to everyone, especially her family. Rosary will be recited Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont NE. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Christopher L. Romero, Mark A. Lovato, Mark J. Wolff, David N. Sanchez, and great-grandson, Joseph W. Troy and John Scott Sanchez. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
