Esther Zelby Caron, 82, of Albuquerque, NM, died Friday, January 4, 2002 at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park, KS. Funeral services will be 12 noon on Monday, January 7, at The Louis Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 9, time to be announced, at Congregation Albert Cemetery, 700 Yale SE in Albuquerque, NM. Kindly omit flowers, family suggests contributions to Mazon, a Jewish Response to Hunger, Johnson County Community College Foundation, or Lyric Opera of Kansas City. Born in Cleveland, OH and raised in Detroit, MI she moved to Albuquerque in 1958. For many years, she was the owner of the gift shop at the Holiday Inn East and had been a member of Congregation Albert. Mrs. Caron was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Caron in 1967. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea Kempf and Evan Luskin of Overland Park, KS; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Mary Caron of Sierra Vista, AZ; sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Marvin Miller of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Robin Kempt and Peter Haxton, Lucas and Purvee Kempf, Benjamin Caron and Jeremy Caron; great-granddaughter, Alison Kempf-Haxton; and nephews, Alan Miller and Steven Miller and their families.
