Evelyn Maxine Newell, 81, died December 22, 2001 in Chandler, AZ. She was born January 20, 1920 in Denver, Colorado and moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico in 1943. She was a secretary in the Illustration department at Los Alamos National Laboratory. After retirement in 1974 she moved to Albuquerque, where she resided until her death. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara McGillivray of Las Vegas, NV, Patricia Chavez of Chandler, AZ and Sandra London of Los Alamos, NM; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services were held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Albuquerque on Thursday, January 3 with her nephew, the Rev. Scott Ruthven officiating.
