Obituary for Otero

Marcelino (Max) Otero Sr., 86, a resident of Paloma Blanca Rehabilitation Center, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2002 after a lengthy illness. He was born in San Antonito, NM. on July 23, 1915. He moved to Albuquerque when he was a child and continued to live here until his death. Max is survived by his sons Max Otero, Jr. and wife Gloria, Joe Frank Otero and wife Mary Lou of Albuquerque; four grandchildren Suzanne Mirabal and husband David, Liz Torres and husband Lawrence, Anthony Otero and wife Loretta of Albuquerque, and Larry Otero and wife Gabriela of El Paso; Seven great-grandchildren Bryan and Meghan Mirabal, Isaiah Torres, Joseph and Rebecca Otero of Albuquerque and Matthew and Larry Otero, Jr. of El Paso. He was preceded in death in 1992 by his grandson Bryan Otero. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming NE. A rosary will be recited by Jimmy Rael on Friday, January 18, 2002 at 7:00PM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00AM on Saturday, January 19, 2002 with burial following at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
