Obituary for Aragon

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Mercy V. Aragon, 65, died January 16, 2002 following a long battle with diabetes. She was born on April 14, 1936 in Peña Blanca, NM to Bernadita and Gregorio Salas. She had been an Aztec resident since 1977, where she owned Dino's Place. Surviving Mercy is her husband of 45 years, Eloy Aragon and adopted grandson, Lucas; sons, Richard and wife, Kim, Diego and wife, Luella, Ralph, and James and wife, Valerie; and four granddaughters. She is also survived by many loving brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved daughter, Maria Aragon. Mercy will be missed for her unending kindness and her devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren, and her family and for her great cooking. Visitation will be at Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, today, January 18, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Rosary will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. this evening. Mass will be held Saturday, January 19, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Joe Blonski, Celebrant. Burial will be at the Aztec Community Cemetery with her sons as Pallbearers. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec.
