Obituary for Hunt

Edna Louise Hunt, age 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954 died Thursday January 17, 2002. She was born Edna Louise Morton July 30, 1918 in Waycross Georgia. Having graduated as Valedictorian from her College in 1938, she had two Bachelors degrees in the Medical & Sciences field. While serving in the US Navy during World War two as a Nurse, she was stationed at Navy Hospitals in New Orleans and Mare Island Naval Hospital in San Francisco Harbor, as well as the commisioned psychiatric convalescence hospital in Glenwood Springs Colorado. It was in 1950 in San Francisco that she met and married my Father, SMSGT Aubrey Byron Hunt, who was stationed at the Presidio Army Air Corp base. Edna Hunt traveled Europe with her husband until he was stationd at Kirtland Air Force Base here in Albuquerque. Edna Hunt went back into the nursing field at BCMC in 1969, and in 1971 went to work at the VA Hospital at KAFB where she retired in 1989. My Mother's favorite piano piece was by Narciso Serradell, called La Golondrina, which she attempted to teach me how to play. She was a loving woman who gave freely of her heart in life to those near to her. She was Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1957 and remained an active member till her death. She spent many hours in spirited discussion of Bible matters with Doctors, Nurses and the Chaplain staff where she worked. Edna Hunt is survived by her son, James Kelly Hunt of Rio Rancho NM; grandchildren, Jennifer Elizabeth Hunt of Van Nuys Calif, Byron Hunt of San Diego, Calif, and Sarah Aubrey Hunt of Albuquerque NM. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial will take place Saturday 4:00 p.m., January 26, 2002 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 8904 Menaul N.E. in Albuquerque NM, Nathaniel Grant officiating.
