Obituary for Hollister

Ernest B. "Bud" Hollister passed away January 30, 2002 at the age of 82. He and his wife of 52 years, Arline, relocated to Albuquerque from Fremont, MI on January 6, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Arline; son, Todd Hollister of Albuquerque and Paul Hollister of Green Bay, WI; daughter, Pamela Carpenter and her husband, Scott of Holland, MI; grandchildren, Sgt. Matthew Hollister and his wife, Elizabeth of Ft. Lewis, WA and Emily Carpenter of Holland, MI. Mr. Hollister was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 4, 1919. He graduated from Garden City High School in Long Island, NY and served in the Army during WWII in Germany. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, in 1947. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He worked for 37 years as a project manager for Turner Construction Co. in Manhattan, NY retiring in 1985. He and Mrs. Hollister relocated from Locust Valley, Long Island to Fremont, MI before moving to Albuquerque. Bud was a lifelong lover of music and the arts, and especially enjoyed choral singing. He was active in church and his community choirs most of his life. He was very involved in the churches he attended and was a devout Christian and lifelong Episcopalian. The family is particularly grateful for his example of faith and love for all people. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, Sullivan Ave., Fremont, MI 49412. A Funeral Service with Eucharist will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church on Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Sandra Bess, officiating. Cremation arrangements by the Sunrise Society of NM 891-8200.
