Obituary for Davis

Gloria Ann Davis, a resident of Albuquerque, died on February 1, 2002. She was a Christian, a mother, a sister and a friend. She graduated nurse's school as an L.P.N. and worked for Indian Health Service as a mental heath technician for 26 years. She retired in January 1996. She was an avid member and volunteer of her church. Gloria lived in Nazlini, Arizona and also in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a member of the Navajo Tribe; her mother's clan was Towering House, her father's clan was Nakai Dine. Gloria is survived by her three daughters, Carmen Davis-Reynoso and husband, Jose, of Albuquerque, Andrea Babby and husband, Gordon, of Sacramento, CA and Yvonne M. Davis and husband, Michael Thompson, of Albuquerque; 7 grandchildren, Tonia, Karen, Sandra, Alana, Alex, Mikal, and Gabriel, all of Albuquerque; 4 great - grandchildren, Sean, Dru, Jerry Jr. and Davina, all of Albuquerque. She also has 3 sisters, Marjorie Charley, Alberta Yazzie and Priscilla Begay; brother, Jerry Tisi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Davis, and parents, Yazzie Roberts and Harrison Begay. She selflessly helped others regardless if they were in need or not. She was a person whom you could consult and confide in. Gloria was the ultimate role model as a mother. Services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, in Albuquerque, New Mexico with Pastor Ron Harvey, officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, February 3, 2002 at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association of NM, 525 San Pedro NE #101,Albuquerque, NM, 87108.
