Obituary for Hernandez

Mr. Tony M. Hernandez born in Dawson, New Mexico on May 4, 1920 went to his eternal home February 9, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away at the home of his daughter, Ms. Veronica Hernandez; and grandson, Vicente Hernandez in Avondale, Arizona. Tony served from 1942 to 1945 in the US Army, during WWII. He moved from Dawson to Albuquerque in 1958. Tony is survived by his daughters, Michelle Gillison and husband, Simon, Veronica Hernandez, Victoria Wolf, Isabel Rios, Dolores Blocher and husband, Syd; grandchildren, Renee, Priscilla, Simon J., Monica, Vicente, Lee, Valerie, Carla, Stephanie, and Syd Jr.; great grandchildren, Alyssa and one on the way; spouse, Elva Hernandez and her family; numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2002. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2002. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
