Obituary for Pederson

Melvin Lee (Pete) Pederson passed away February 19, 2002 after a long battle with cancer. He was born April 28, 1943 at Steele, N.D. to Albert and Hazel Pederson. Pete attended schools at Steele and Jamestown, N.D. and San Diego State University. He spent more than 40 years in the tire industry in California, Neveda and New Mexico. During the Watts riot in the 1960's he guarded his store for a week with only candy bars to eat. It was one of only a few buildings that didn't burn. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana of Albuquerque; daughters, Margo and Lynette, Mesa, AZ; and son, Randy, Orange, CA and five grandsons. He is also survived by five brothers and two sisters, Jerry, Chandler, AZ, Gary, Lawton, OK, Sandra, Jamestown, ND, Harlow, Rentobn, WA, Carlotta, Gold Canyon, AZ, Allen, Casselton, ND, and Kelvin, Fargo, ND and several nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death. Services will be Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. from LDS, Kachina Bldg. Foyer, 6009 Kachina NW. The body has been cremated. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Presbyterian Hospice, 8100 Constitution Pl NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
