Obituary for Apodaca

Pedro I. "Pete" Apodaca, age 66, passed away February 19, 2002 at the Guadalupe County Hospital in Santa Rosa following an illness. Pete was born November 3, 1935 to the home of Pedro and Gavina Gallegos Apodaca. He married Frances Garcia March 17, 1957 in Vaughn. Pete worked for The New Mexico State Highway Dept. in Vaughn for over 25 years. He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn and the Vaughn Senior Citizens. He loved to watch westerns on T.V. Pete is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances, his brothers, Tano Apodaca, Desiderio Apodaca and Tony Apodaca and his sister, Bennie Sisneros. Survivors include his children, Jimmy Apodaca and wife, Marcella of Clovis, NM, Anna Apodaca of Pojaque, Robert T. Apodaca and wife, Teri of Vaughn and Florinda Garcia and husband, Arthur of Vaughn; his grandchildren, Suzanne Apodaca, Jimmy Apodaca, Jr., Cerease Aragon, Corey Aragon, Victoria Gallegos, Arianna Garcia, Andrew Apodaca and Adrian Apodaca. Also surviving is his sister, Oralda Dimas of Lordsburg, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. from St. Mary's Church in Vaughn. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. also from St. Mary's Church with Father John Jasinski officiating. Creamation will follow the services. Serving as Pallbearers will be Norbert Archibeque, Marcy Cordova, Jimmy Pacheco, Billy Anaya, Herbert Anaya, Arthur"Chief" Marquez and Marty O'Shea. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Corey Aragon, Jimmy Apodaca, Jr., Artie Garcia, Edward Baca, Adrian Apodaca and Andrew Apodaca.
