James (Jim) Leroy Mitchell, 73, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 1, 2002. Born in Silver City, NM, he was the youngest of five children. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of 47 years, Charlotte; his sister and brother, Mildred Thomas and Raymond Mitchell, both of Silver City; daughters, Kellie Primm, Laura Armistead, who live locally, and Mary Sandoval of Etiwanda, CA; and four grandchildren. Viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2002 at Vista Verde Chapel, 4310 Sara, Rio Rancho, with Memorial Services officiated by Rev. Daniel Clymer following at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Legion Post 75 Special Donations Fund, P.O. Box 214, Jemez Springs, NM 87025. Mr. Mitchell had established the fund to help people in need in the Jemez Springs area.
