Obituary for Winter

Raymond George Winter, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2002 after a short illness. He was born June 9, 1922 in Fort Collins, CO. Mr. Winter attended Fort Collins High School and Denver University. He was a World War II Veteran and had 33 years of government service. Upon retiring, he traveled the country with his wife, wrote poetry, loved to go fishing and participated in the Senior Olympics, winning many awards. Mr. Winter was a member of the VFW. One of Mr. Winter's favorite movies was Heaven Knows Mr. Allison the family feels Heaven also knows Mr. Winter. He is survived by his wife, Beulah B. Winter; three children, Gerald Winter and wife, Mary, Coach Carol Winter and Linda Alexander and husband, Bill; two grandchildren, Jennifer Garcia and husband, Bernie and Jon Alexander; and one great-grandchild, Mayah Garcia. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Harold L. Trott officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch, 6209 Hendrix NE, 87110.
