Eva Montes died peacefully at home on March 11, 2002 surrounded by family and loved ones. Mrs. Larrazolo was the wife of the late Honorable Paul F. Larrazolo. She was also preceded in death by her late brother, Gustavo E. Montes; and her parents, Elzeario and Francisca Rey Montes. She is survived by her daughter, Francina Marie Larrazolo; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Larrazolo was born November 2, 1913 in El Paso, TX. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary, a member of The University of New Mexico Board of Regents at the Socorro campus, and an ex-oficio member of the Pan-American Round Table Number One. The body of Mrs. Larrazolo will lie in state Thursday, March 14, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 15, 2002 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Santa Fe National Cemetery with Ralph Sulpizio, Ron Sulpizio, Lyle Trusty, Robert Castillo, Gilbert Luna and Richard Rowe serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dan Chavez and Joe Sanchez. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to a charity of choice. Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors is handling her arrangements.
