Obituary for Garcia

Nick Garcia, age 48, beloved and devoted son, father, grandfather, brother and friend was called home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 18, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Nick was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque; he was former employee of Vista Verde Memorial Park; and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and Corvette. His grandson was the sparkle in his eyes, and he loved spending time with him. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Melecia and Jesus Lucero; brothers, Carlos and Claude Lucero. Nick is survived by his loving mother, Esmeralda Lucero; one daughter, Melissa N. Garcia; one grandson, Nicholas. Also surviving are one brother, Leonard Garcia; four sisters, Lorraine Lopez, Peggy Garcia, Dorothy Gomez, and Hope Garcia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations will today from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park. Casket Bearers will be Baz Chapel, Faustino Myers, Andrew Baca, Barney Ruiz, Abel Lovato, and Russell Lucero. Funeral Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th Street NW, 898-3160.
