Obituary for Poston

Vernon Ray Poston, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, passed away, Monday, March 18, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Fern; son, Larry Green and wife, Sylvia; daughters, Donna Aguilar and Ginger Whitley; grandchildren, Jennifer Whitley, Debbie Barquist, Larry Ray Green, Gary Gilbert, Pam Gilbert; five great-grandchildren; sister, Audrey Robison and husband, Charles; niece, Judy Ritter, nephews, Johnny Robison and Robbie Robison and wife, Jean; and family friend, Steve Roake. Mr. Poston was born and was schooled in Breckenridge, TX. He was a machinist who worked at ACF and GE retiring in 1987. Ray served in the Navy during WWII and then subsequently in the Army. He was an avid football and sports fan. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Friday, March 22, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Faith's Receiving Home, 1709 Moon St. NE, 87112 or to Carrie Tingley Children's Foundation, 1127 University NE, Suite 2019, 87102.
