Obituary for Johnson

Elizabeth (Bette) Green Johnson passed away March 20, 2002 following a short illness. Born January 12, 1926 to Lucy Franklin and William S. Green in Hoopeston, IL, she was a graduate of the Chicago Art Institute where she met and married Richard M. Johnson. They moved to Albuquerque to become art teachers for the Albuquerque Public Schools. After a successful career she retired from Rio Grande High School in 1986. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Walter Franklin Green; and her husband. She is survived by her sister, Mary Alice Kopf of Minneapolis, MN; niece, Sarah Kopf-Patterson and husband, Gavin of Seattle, WA; nephew, Walter Kopf and wife, Judy of Seattle, WA; grandniece, Madeline Patterson; and special friends, Jacob Beidler and Thomas McMullen of Albuquerque. She was a member of the Board of her Neighborhood Association, a longtime member of P.E.O. and a member of the New Mexico and Albuquerque Retired Teachers Associations. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sandia Funeral Care. There will be an Open House for those who knew and loved her on March 24, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 5116 Guadalupe Trail NW.
