Catherine F. Conroy, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Duerr and husband, Travis; sons, David Conroy, Thomas Conroy, Jr. and wife, Mariellen and Michael Conroy and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Scott Bryan, Rob Bryan, Thomas Conroy III, Debra Conroy, Wendy Conroy Williams, Jonathan Conroy and Kirsten Payne; and great-grandchildren, Devon Williams and Robert Rivas. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Thomas D. Conroy, Sr; and five brothers. She was born in Flint, MI, and as an Army wife, she lived in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, Ottawa Canada, Istanbul, and Ankara Turkey. She was a nursing Aide at St. Jospehs Hospital in Flint, MI. After moving to Albuquerque, Catherine worked for Kirtland Air Force Base Child Care Center and retired after 27 years of service. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 401, the Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary #7, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Auxiliary and St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary. Catherine will long be remembered as loving to travel, music, flowers and fishing. She had an outgoing, happy personality and loved all people, and she gave to many charities and organizations, especially, St. Jude's Children Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Del Norte NE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 400 Walter NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102 or the American Heart Association NM Affiliate, P.O.
