Joan Gamertsfelder passed away on March 17, 2002 at her home in Phoenix, AZ. at the age of 59. She had been fighting a courageous battle with cancer and Valley Fever. Joan is survived by her companion, Bonnie Anthony of Phoenix, AZ.; sisters, Janet Castle and husband, Jack of Albuquerque, Jean Sanderson and husband, Eugene of Albuquerque; brother, Richard Gamertsfelder of Biloxi, MS; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Joanie will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her thoughtfulness. She also loved Bingo, had a passion for dogs including the six of her own and loved the Arizona Cardinals. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Graveside Service will be held at Fairview Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2002. Fairview Cemetery in charge of arrangements.
