Obituary for Turano

Angelo A. Turano, 90, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, March 25, 2002 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Turano of Albuquerque; daughters, Judith Gregori of Philadelphia, PA, Joan Scriver and husband, Bill of Farmington, NM, Jani Perkins and husband, Kyle of Carbondale, IL, Jean Vondle and husband, David of Albuquerque and Juli Turano of Denver, CO; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Ryan; two sisters; and his parents. Mr. Turano developed the music program in the Farmington School System. In August 2001, the new Piedra Vista High School Auditorium in Farmington was named the Turano-Chrisman Performing Arts Theater in honor of Angelo Turano and Howard Chrisman. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at 1:30 p.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE. Ennichement of cremains will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to San Juan College Foundation, Angelo Turano Scholarship Fund, 4601 College Blvd., Farmington, NM, 87402.
