Obituary for Stevens

Annie Mae Stevens, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1939, died Sunday, March 24, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Dean Stevens; daughter, Margaret Ann Carrillo and husband, Joe, of Trinidad, CO; son, Benny Dean Stevens and wife, Ann, of Mesa, AZ; granddaughters, Keira Huckeby and husband, Michael, and Jill Mehrer and husband, Paul; three step-grandchildren, Larry and Greg Carrillo, and Peggy Fason; brother, Loyd Franklin and wife, Dorothy; and sister, Violet Hennington. Annie graduated from Amherst High School in Amherst, TX, in 1934. She was a chief operator for the telephone company in Muleshoe, TX, and employed by Galles Motors in Albuquerque. Annie was a lifelong member of The Church of Christ, an avid sports fan, and enjoyed tennis, bowling, baseball, the Lobos, and the Albuquerque Dukes. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be truly missed. Services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Kevin Owen officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul N.E. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions be made to the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven Rd. NW, Albuquerque, N.M. 87120. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
