Frances V. Gallegos, 78, a former resident of Logan, NM and a current resident of Belen for the past 9 years, passed away peacefully from this life on March 25, 2002. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She goes home to join her parents, J. B. and Josephita Vigil; her brothers, J. Benito Jr. and Leo Vigil; and her sister, Margaret Alarid. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Willie of the family home in Belen; two daughters, Vickie Cordova and her husband, Manuel of Albuquerque, and Stella Gallegos of Belen; one son, Billy Gallegos and his fiancée, Janet Tjora, both of Belen; three grandchildren, Andrea and Armando Cordova of Albuquerque, and Shawna Gallegos of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Mela LeDoux and her husband, Richard of Albuquerque, Esmeralda Martinez of Santa Fe, and Martha Suiter of Albuquerque; three brothers, Alfonso Vigil and his wife, Loretta, Orlando Vigil and his wife, Angie, and Edmundo Vigil and his wife, Aurora, all of Taos, NM; her sister-in-laws, Caroline Hall, Socorro Greene, and Elise Virgason; and her brother-in-laws, Lonnie Gallegos and Irvin Sundby. She is also survived by her special friends from Loretto Academy class of 1942; and her many cousins; nieces; nephews, and friends. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at 5:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with a Rosary following at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Frances on Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at Our Lady of Belen, beginning at 8:00am. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Frank Vigil, Bobby Martinez, Richard LeDoux, Donnie Chacon, JoAnn Vigil, Grace Sandoval, Christina Virgason, and Antonio Vigil.
