Obituary for Bobbs

Dorothy Bobbs, 77, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away March 24, 2002. She was a faithful member of Truevine Baptist Church, who worked hard and was supportive of her husband, during his 47 years in the ministry. She was a private nurse and a homemaker after her retirement. She was active in her church activities, the Baptist Convention and helping the indigent with charitable donations. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Rev. V.L. Bobbs, Sr; her children, Lilly Marie Robinson and husband, Calvin of Garden, City, KS, Patricia Ann Watts and husband, Oneil of Albuquerque, Laura Mae Lewis and husband, Donald of Albuquerque, Linda Gale Hawkins of Las Vegas, NV, John L. Bobbs and wife, LaShaun of Inglewood, CA, Vurne L. Bobs Jr. and wife, Cynthia of Los Angeles, CA and James Alvin Bobbs of Albuquerque; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one sister, Bernice Boyd of Alexandria, LA; and one brother, Flan Johnson of Alexandria, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elnora Newman and a daughter, Margaret Ann Bradshaw, and two sisters, Laura and Lucille. Visitation for Mrs. Bobbs will be Thursday, March 28, 2002, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 29, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. David Walker and Rev. Vurne L. Bobbs Jr., officiating.
