Obituary for Tatum

Charlene S. Tatum, 74, a resident of Albuquerque for 28 years, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, died Thursday, March 28, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Burl C. Tatum of Albuquerque; son, Rodney Yoak and wife, Christina of Murray, KY; daughter, Janet Abdinor of Lawrenceville, GA; stepdaughters, Linda Carpenter and husband, Charles Fuch of Arlington, TX and Johnnie Kelley of Benbrook, TX; stepson, Troy Tatum and wife, Judy of Davenport, IA; sister, Oneida Songer of Huntington, WV; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and niece, Barbara Collins of Huntington, WV. Mrs. Tatum was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Shepard and twin, Charles Shepard. She was a member of The Order of the Amaranth past Royal Matron and past Grand Royal Matron; The Order of the Eastern Star - past Worthy Matron; The White Shrine of Jerusalem Yucca Temple #74; Daughters of the Nile; and Beauceant. Mrs. Tatum was a longtime teacher at Daniel Fernandez Elementary in Los Lunas, retiring ten years ago. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor John Embrey officiating. Interment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, WV. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Monday, 9:00 a.m. until service time.
