Obituary for Michael

Raymond J. Michael, 77, left his earthly home to be with his Heavenly Father, Wednesday, March 27, 2002. Raymond is survived by his sister, Helen Michael Azar and husband, Frank of Albuquerque; his brother, Arthur Michael and wife, Jennie of Santa Fe; also, numerous nieces; and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Kaiser and Frieda Michael; sisters, Jennie Sebastian, Elizabeth Malouff and Evelyn Zlaket; and his brothers, Robert Michael and Kaiser Michael. Raymond was born on October 21, 1924 and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, coming from a pioneer family that settled in Albuquerque in 1883. Raymond graduated from Albuquerque High in 1943. He served in WWII in the U.S. Army. He was a highly respected business owner in Albuquerque for over 50 years. He was owner of Raymond's Children Shop on Central Ave. and owner of Save-Way Liquor Store on Lomas Blvd. Raymond was known for his integrity, honesty, generosity, terrific sense of humor and especially his warm smile. He treated family and friends with tremendous respect and love. His nieces and nephews, who loved their Uncle Raymond, will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Rosary will be recited Monday, April 1, 2002, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., by Father Richard Olona, Celebrant, at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers are his nephews, Frank Azar Jr., Arthur Michael Jr., Charles Malouff, Ted Malouff, Robert Malouff and Scott Michael. Honorary Pallbearers are his nieces and nephew, Ray M. Azar, Frieda Sebastian, Barbara Michael, Sharon Azar and Kristen Michael. Family and friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Monday, April 1, 2002, from 3:00 p.m. until time of Rosary.
