Edward (Eddie) A. Martinez, 45, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1985 died on Friday, March 22, 2002, east of Kingman, Arizona in an automobile accident while traveling home to his beloved family. Eddie was born in Berkeley, California, on November 1, 1956 to Edward and Tillie Martinez, both of whom have preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Lucy I. Martinez; two sons, Edward and Jazael; and two daughters, Jennifer and Veronica; his precious granddaughter, Destiny and her father, Joe Jaramillo, all of Rio Rancho, NM. Also surviving are two sisters, Alice Gonzales and husband, Fred and Gerry Sechrist all of Albuquerque, NM, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eddie was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman; he also loved to travel. Eddie will be greatly missed by his loving family and all who knew and loved him. Rosary will be recited on Monday, April 1, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. also at the church with Father Ronald Stone, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be, Ryan Sechrist, Jeffery Sechrist, David Sechrist, Tony Gonzales, Freddy Gonzales and Ronald Hyatt. Honorary Pallbearers will be his sons, Edward and Jazael Martinez. Friends may visit French Mortuary - Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW. (3 blocks North of Paseo Del Norte) on Monday, April 1, 2002 from 2:00 p.m.
