Obituary for Robinson

William (Bill) L. Robinson, 69, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, following an extended illness. Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Robinson; children, Dale Robinson and wife, Dana, of St. Louis, MO, Rhonda Wineland and husband, Adrian, and Michael Robinson, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Keith and Bryce Robinson and Rebekah and Stephen Wineland; brother, Paul Robinson and sister, Martha Smith and husband, George. In 1970, the Robinson family moved to Albuquerque where Bill began working as a campus minister at the Christian Student Center, serving the University of New Mexico. He retired from campus ministry in 1995 and worked five years as a licensed Christian counselor at Mountainside Church of Christ. Bill served as an elder for 35 years in both University and Mountainside Churches of Christ in Albuquerque. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, the Christian Student Center and Sandia Youth Camp. He will be remembered as a loving husband, dad, granddad, brother, teacher, counselor, mentor, elder and friend. His love for people was exceeded only by his love for God. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Mountainside Church of Christ, 12300 Indian School Rd., located on the corner of Indian School and Chelwood Park. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Friday, April 5, 2002, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Christian Student Center or the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home.
